Detailed information:
We are excited to announce that The West Midlands Youth Parliament will be holding a regional event on Friday February 22nd 2008 in Birmingham on Climate Change and the Environment.
Our interactive event is for 16 – 25 year olds and will provide an opportunity to find out more about this issue, to debate key issues, to discuss concerns with other young people and to find out about different volunteering opportunities available in the region.
We are also inviting political figures, experts in the field, businesses and the media to join us in debates and to discuss issues with young people in an informal way. We will have a Mi Pod for young people to share their views. Liam Byrne MP (Minister for West Midlands) and David Kidney MP (Staffordshire) are confirmed attending - with more guests to be confirmed.
Our event is run by young people (Members of Youth Parliament) for young people. It is hosted, organised and ran by UK Youth Parliament and is sponsored by V.
Our event is free and refreshments and lunch will be provided. We ask that people coming to the event try to come in the most environmentally way as possible. At the end of the event, everyone will be asked to make a pledge about how they can support this issue and what issues they would like us to address in the future.
Places are limited for this event and are on a first come first served basis.
