Melody Hossaini (23), is a co-founder of UK Youth Parliament and has played an active and central role for 10 years.
Melody made history being the first female to Co-Chair the Board of Trustees between 2005 to 2007, during this time she helped steer the organisation to great levels of growth, now being the leading democratic youth organisation in the UK, as praised by the likes of Gordon Brown and the king of Bahrain.
Melody is currently in her third term of office as a re-elected Director of the charity.
In March 2007, Melody completed a 2-day Climate Change training with Al Gore, former Vice President of USA and nobel peace prize winner, and is now a member of the Al Gore Alumni Scheme. Since then she has been invited to represent the UK on various global initiatives and she is currently managing a comprehensive network of young people active on Climate Change, organisations of this nature as well as DEFRA, the Government department responsible for Environmental matters. Working full-time in Project Management, she joined the National Youth Agency in 2006 managing a broad range of projects such as delivery of training on youth participation to Local Authorities and Climate Change globally.
In November 2005 she won the prestigious Year of the Volunteer Award for Partnership by the Home Office. Melody holds an LLB (Hons) Law degree, has lived in 4 different countries and speaks 5 languages.
